it's julie's birthday today.
we just finished up the recording of a new track in the studio on wednesday of this week, hopefully after mixdown we can put it online for all of you to hear.

mar 06th 2006
yay! we now have a forum. one of the frivolous features on our new webserver.

feb 28th 2006
my how time slips by when you're not paying attention. humble apologies to everyone who has come here and found nothing new or entertaining.

we've actually been rather busy as of late-we just changed webservers yet again, so please pardon the occasional missed email and missing weblink as we get all the bugs worked out.

we've also spent some time in the studio, creating a couple demo tracks of songs we'd like to put onto the next album, and with any luck i'll get permission from everyone involved to post some of the better stuff here for you to listen to.

i hate to sign off with such a teaser as that, but i do promise that something will be available very soon...

feb 14th 2005
today is my birthday. how cute.

here's an upcoming show:
friday february 25, 2005 at the ascott room at the quest.
5th st. and 2nd ave. n.
downtown minneapolis
we're playing with cold colours and aesma daeva.
this is an early, all ages show. $5 5pm.

in band news, we're steadily writing new material for a 3rd album.
no idea when it'll be available, but in the mean time, we are looking into what it will take to do a re-press of "the hating tree", which has been long out of print and hard to find. hopefully we'll get a better idea of availability toward the beginning of summer.

-jeff!

happy birthday neil!

january 2004
happy new year and happy birthday to autumn!
believe it or not, autumn is 10 years old this month. it's been quite a ride so far, and thanks to people like you who actually take the time to check in on us and read our news and send us an occasional email, we'll keep going for another 10.

to celebrate our life so far, we've decided to put every single track we've ever released online for you to download for free. it's not a staggering amount of material by far, but we want you to have them, in case you don't already. we know the hating tree is woefully out of print, and these tracks are sometimes hard to find online, so enjoy them now. we'll take them back down again sometime in the near future, so get them while they're here.

while you've got them on your computer, feel free to share them with others. music is meant to be heard. (read my rant about file trading below)

thanks for 10 great years everyone!

we've moved to a new web server. there may be a few missing pieces on our web site while we get things adjusted in our new home. hang in there.

july 14th, 2003
time sure does slip by quickly when you're not paying attention...
to dispell any rumors, autumn has not broken up, and we have every intention on releasing new material in the (hopefully) not too distant future. we've certainly taken a break or two so that families and careers can get themselves in order, but it appears that things are now back on track and ready for whatever the future may hold.

the web site has been cleaned up a bit, mostly to remove any spam-bot friendly "mailto" links. while i believe in the power of the internet and the open forum of communication it provides users around the world, it, like most things that are under human control, has turned into a complete cesspool of greed and fraud.

our mailbox is receiving upwards of 75 pieces of spam per day. light when compared to some aol users, but enough to make wading through the drivel to find legit emails more of a chore than it's worth. i apologize to anyone who has emailed us and not received a response. please do write again.

to help combat this, let it be known that this website will never host advertisements, banner ads, popup/under ads, or any form of marketing whatsoever. any email addresses or other personal information sent to us will absolutely never be shared with anyone, ever.

while i'm on my soapbox, here's a note about mp3s:

autumn fully and completely supports downloading, sharing, and distributing any track that we've ever released. we believe that music is meant to be enjoyed and shared with others, not a tool to help us purchase a new house on the lakefront. we own the rights to all of our songs, and will never be a part of or supporter of the riaa or any other "artist representative" organization.

if you feel guilty for downloading our songs for free, send us a tiny contribution via paypal. suggested donation is $0.20 per track, or a maximum of $2.50 per whole album. after receiving your payment, we'll send you a paper receipt for your contribution, freeing you of all legal responsibilites for having our mp3s on your computer or other playback device.

the site has undergone a brand new look thanks to brian at wardyga. all published songs now have 'real' samples in our discography section. look for more frequent site updates as well!

jan 24th, 2002
julie annouced that she wants to get back into practice as early as next week (we were expecting she'd be ready in march) so we're ahead of schedule for working on new material.

make some room!
Julie and her husband were blessed with the birth of a very healthy baby girl.
please help us welcome violet into the world.

july 8th, 2001
we've had another mail problem, this time it was entirely jeff's fault. a major hard drive crash completely wiped out all previous mail and addresses, so if you've written to us recently and we didn't respond, please contact us again.

june 1st, 2001
got record label?
our six year relationship with tess records ended today due to tess going out of business, which makes us an unsigned band again. (sniff!)

feb 1st, 2001
we've had a mail outage! if you emailed us between Jan 15 through Jan 31st, and we didn't respond, please send it again. our server lost anything that was sent our way.
sorry about that.

nov, 2000
neil and his wife donna have had their 2nd healthy baby boy!
